I’ve heard the saying if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. And that’s exactly what I did with Uggie, the dog from The Artist that is a bigger star than me.
Look at how I managed to get in his family photo at The Humane Society‘s 26th annual Genesis Awards. The adorable little girl liked me and kept rubbing me. I think I reminded her of her Persian cat.
Or maybe she felt sorry for me. I admit I was so jealous watching that darn Uggie get all of the attention at the gala at The Beverly Hilton. Can you believe people actually lined up to take photos with him?
I met him and he was all right. He’s not nearly as cute as I am. Personally, I don’t know what people see in Jack Russell Terriers. Serena Williams has one named Jackie that she takes everywhere. And maybe Uggie is talented. He’s been in a few movies. But I’m sure I could have done just as good a job in The Artist as him if given the chance. (Hel-loooow? Are any casting agents reading this? I’m available!!)
Eventually Uggie went inside the ballroom to help present the awards. Without him around to steal my attention, I became the star I know I am. I walked the red carpet and people lined up to pose for photos with me. My mommy Kelly recorded it on her FlipCam. So check back later for the video on YouTube and you will see that I have just as much star in me, if not more, than Uggie.
Somewhere I hear Norma Desmond saying, “I’m still big. It’s the pictures that got small.”
