Now that wedding season is officially underway, expect to see more pets in wedding parties, whether the ceremony is local or a fabulous destination wedding in an exotic location. After all, who wouldn’t want their furry friend with them on their special day?
The trick is how to pull it off. Veteran wedding planner Preston Bailey offers tips to the Wall Street Journal in this video. Click on the link to watch.
Training is key
If your dog needs training before your big day, it is wise to bring in an expert such as Connie Formosa of Help I Have a Dog! With more than 20 years of experience, the Trainer/Behavior Consultant/Coach out of North Bergen, N.J., can teach your best friend to walk down the aisle, pose for photographs and greet guests.
In Chicago, check out Sit Means Sit, which has locations nationwide as well though all may not be equipped to train a dog to participate in a wedding.
Other important elements
Just as you need to make sure that Fifi is obedient enough for the ceremony, also make sure the photographer is comfortable working with animals.
