Get ready, world: my star power is about to really shine through! This is the week (paws crossed) I get my much-deserved TV debut on Good Morning America. As you may know, I’ve always considered myself an undiscovered star, and this appearance is just what I need to show the world what I’ve got. After all, we already know that Everybody Loves Lucy.
Sure, I’ve modeled in People and I’ve had some camera time before, but that was when celebrities like Salma Hayek and Steven Cojocaru wanted to hold me during their interviews. I know I’m irresistible, but I don’t think I stole their limelight. And just last week I did a few live TV shows and radio interviews in Miami and DC to promote my mommy’s new book The Dog Lover’s Guide to Travel, but that was nothing compared to Good Morning America. This really is the chance of a lifetime!
Of course, there are a few concerns. As much as I know that I deserve to be in the spotlight at all times, I have been a little on the heavy side this past year. They say the camera adds 10 pounds and, gawd, a girl like me can’t afford that! If I look fat on Good Morning America, all my chances at great stardom may be out the window. Luckily (I guess) my mommy has been keeping me on an oppressively strict diet. In August, I weighed (I’m ashamed to admit) 8.4 lbs. Today, I’m down to 6.2 lbs. Hopefully these weeks of starvation have been worth it!
Despite losing two whole pounds, I’m sad to say that I didn’t even get a new outfit for Good Morning America. So now all 6 million viewers will have to see me au naturel. As long as the camera catches my good angles, I should be okay. After all, I had a great time on the shoot. My mommy and I showed Good Morning America correspondent Becky Worley all the dog-friendly hot spots in our San Francisco and had a blast. Becky was great to spend time with. If this is what being a star on TV is all about, then I know I’ll do just fine when I finally get discovered.
Speaking of which, I better stop writing and work on finding myself an agent. Once the Good Morning America segment airs, I’m sure I won’t be able to handle all the calls that’ll come pouring in asking for my oh-so-cute face to adorn their screens. Be sure to check back to find out what my next big role will be!
And to all my celebrity friends, you can say you knew me when.
