The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is barking up the right tree with its monthly Yappy Hour. Guests staying at the luxury pet-friendly hotel and locals are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends on the first Thursday of every month.
From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. from now until the end of summer (June 2, July 7, August 4 and September 1), the luxury resort hosts a cocktail party that allows canines to sniff and schmooze with other dogs and their parents to socialize as well on The Dana Lawn.
While our furry friends lap up flavored libations — bacon, chicken, cheese, beef or liver flavored water — we can sip wines from Mutt Lynch Winery, including Unleashed Chardonnay, Merlot Over and Play Dead and Chateau D’og Cab Sauvignon. How fitting.
Canines are complimentary; no host cocktails and hors d’oeuvres for their companions.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Pet Project Foundation, a non-profit, charitable organization formed in early 2004 with the merger of two animal welfare groups – Friends of San Clemente Animals and Animal Rescue Foundation of Dana Point. Pet Project Foundation’s shelter is pro-humane and no adoptable animal is ever euthanized. Lost and abandoned animals have a second chance at a good life, thanks to the Pet Project Foundation and The San Clemente/Dana Point Animal Shelter.
